Adding Summer Vibes to Your Home
Have you finished your renovation project and want to redecorate for the summer season? In QLD, we don’t experience much of a Winter, so decorating for summer is ideal. Make sure your new decorations suit well with warm weather, evening breezes, and blue skies. With winter in full “swing”, it’ll be nice to add a warm and bright atmosphere to your home.
As always the team at Liona Construction is here to share our experience and knowledge. Liona Construction specialises in unique and individual quality new homes, knock down rebuilds, complete Home Remodelling, and commercial projects throughout the Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast regions.
So, once you’ve finished renovating, here’s our tips on how to add summer vibes to your home:
1. Create a Resort Style Vibe
In general, people tend to spend more time outside during the summer. So, why not bring the outdoors in and create a resort-style vibe? To do so, make sure the interior features items made of natural materials like cane furniture, bamboo chairs, and ceramic stools – all of which are very trendy at the moment.
2. Include Light Fabrics
Light fabrics are always a good idea, even in winter. Anything light in colour makes a space appear larger, brightens the room and makes it more inviting. Use light fabrics and natural fibres like linen and cotton. Not to mention white is the perfect colour as it serves as a base that you can easily decorate with textured items and natural fibres or anything that you please!
3. Add Colours
Adding colour to a plain room isn’t as simple as it sounds. However, you can achieve a summery look by using two colours: one as a base (usually light neutral tones) and the other (cool and bright colours) as an accent. And, if you want to go bold, feel free to incorporate yellow, green, coral, and aqua, but make sure you avoid colour overload.
4. Go Green
Summertime and freshness go together perfectly, which is why there’s no better way to add summer vibes to your home than adding lots of greenery. Indoor plants aren’t only good for the eyes but also provide other benefits like emitting oxygen while drawing carbon dioxide out of the air and improving mood.
5. Get Nautical
Recreating that beach house ambiance is also one of the best ways to add summer vibes to your home that all home builders recommend. A nautical theme, using stripes, anchors, seashells, starfish, ship steering wheels, will certainly transform your home into a mini getaway. In terms of colours, use white as a base with a splash of blue and orange.
6. Try the Rustic Look
If you want to go rustic, all home designers and home builders will encourage you to use terracotta. Of course, you don’t have to use terracotta flooring to achieve this rustic look. Incorporating terracotta planters, floated wood or whitewashed timber furniture will be enough. By doing so, you will add a fresh and kind of an outdoorsy feel to your home.
7. Add Floral Accessories
Finally, adding floral accessories is one of the simplest ways to add summer vibes to your home. Hence, pick some flowers from your garden and make a colourful bouquet for your living room. Another option is to match flowers with some fresh fruit to make any room welcoming and vibrant. Plus, is there a more beautiful scent than a flower bouquet? We say no!
